Hi everyone,

Over the last few days, I have been reflecting on the hope we have in Christ. In Romans 15:13 Paul prays that the God of hope (may) fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. In many ways as I reflect on the year so far, I am reminded that it takes God’s supernatural strength to give us hope, and our hope in God is seen most clearly in times when things don’t go our way. Our hope in God is most evident in our struggles.

Ministry at Christ Central Soweto

Last year was a difficult year for our Bible studies as we had to close a number of them. But this year, through many initiatives, we have four Bible studies running (two in the workplace) and we have recently launched a new group in Pimville. Pray that this study may get off the ground.

Venue for Sundays

At the beginning of the year, we moved into a new venue at a local church in Pimville on a six-month lease. We had hoped that this would be more than enough time to build and move into a temporary structure in our new property (while we wait for the permanent structure to be built).

My family

It has been a little over a year since we moved from Soweto into Randburg. Praise the Lord that we have settled into our new home and the children have settled into their schools and are doing well. Our nephew Risima (11) is now in grade 6. Ayabonga (6) is in grade 1 and Hlulani (3) has started day-care this year. He has settled well into the weekly routine in day care. My wife Masana now volunteers as a Trustee in our denomination REACHSA and continues to work for the mining company Amplats. I thank God for my family which gives me the firm foundation and strength to serve God’s people sacrificially.

Many thanks,

Musa Nting

Give thanks for...

  • Praise God for the early green shoots that we have seen as we seek to be more evangelistic as a church. Pray that this becomes an entrenched culture in our church.

Please pray for...

  • us as we look for a venue for our Sunday gatherings at the end of June. So far, our search has been unsuccessful. Pray that we find a venue soon and at the right time and trust our good God who has not been taken by surprise by this.
  • our continued conversations with some of the members of the community as we seek to find one another as the new landowners in the community. We pray that a genuine partnership may form with them and the trust deficit between us may be reduced.
