Steve is the pastor of the Protestant Evangelical Church of Woluwe, a borough of Brussels.
The church was planted in the early 1980s and has seen significant growth amongst families in recent years. The church is situated near the university and is a short metro journey from the large EU community and business district. In the past year the church has launched a small church plant in the neighbouring district of Etterbeek, under the leadership of Johnny Pilgrem. The church enjoys a close relationship with the Brussels based Belgian Bible Institute, who send several students to work with them.
Steve and Dawn have four children: Jemima, Max, Zebedee and Nelly.

B-exit (Belgian exit...) at the semi-final stage has dashed hopes for the golden generation of Belgian football to finish with a major trophy. It remains instructive on these occasions to see the effect a common cause can have in bringing folk together who otherwise don't have much to do with each other. And if that is true for passing pleasures like 11 men kicking a ball around, how wonderful that the local church is an ongoing testimony to the common cause (and profound unity) that we find ‘in Christ’ - a unity that transcends all borders, tongues and tribes. The other ‘Brexit’ has brought that into focus for those of us currently labouring in the EU mission field - a reminder that the church's job is to preach Christ, and to rejoice that brothers and sisters in Christ are precious, not in spite of our differences, but because of them - our differences help us grasp our true unity.
