‘But the word of God is not bound! Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory. The saying is trustworthy, for: If we have died with him, we will also live with him; if we endure, we will reign with him; if we deny him, he also will deny us; if we are faithless, he remains faithful – for he cannot deny himself.’ 2 Timothy 2: 9-13
From March to August we all shared in this strange phenomenon of church online. Church that suddenly became dependent on IT equipment, Wi-Fi connections, performance skills and movie-making expertise! Some have thrived and grown through this by developing new and exciting ways to unleash the gospel. For some of us, this has been immobilising, exhausting and resulted in us feeling ‘Zoomed out’! We have certainly experienced both highs and lows and we are thankful that some of this is behind us. We have been meeting ‘face-to-face’ again since 6 September. Life is far from ‘normal’ and the return has had its own set of challenges. But what has this revealed about where we are at spiritually?
