Monika Jovetic

Monika is a BEST study partner at Novi Sad Baptist Theological School in Serbia

Monika grew up being taken to church each week by her Roman Catholic grandmother, but the preaching at that church was devoid of the gospel. When Monika was 11, her mother became a Christian after being invited along to church by a friend. After that, Monika heard the gospel for herself and turned to Christ as her saviour.

When she was 18, Monika began helping out with the children’s ministry in her church and later got involved with youth work. In 2014 Monika went to the HUB Bible School in Belgrade, where she met her husband Radomir. They married in 2015 and, since then, have served together in youth ministry in churches in Lalić and Silbaš (villages to the north west of Novi Sad).

Monika now wishes to serve long-term in ministry and realises the need for women who can teach God’s word to other women. To equip her for this task, Monika is studying at the Baptist Theological School, alongside her husband Radomir. Monika writes, ‘I need to educate myself more, so I can be a faithful bible teacher. I consider my bible knowledge is not yet enough and I believe that this school will help me greatly. Theological training will enable me to be a better tool in God’s hands, to be able to teach the Bible better to a new and young generation.’

Monika started the four-year Bachelor of Theological and Biblical Studies course at the Baptist Theological School, Novi Sad, in September 2016. Monika needs £410 per academic year until the end of June 2020 to complete her studies.
