For her university language year abroad, Joanna spent September 2017 - January 2018 at a university in Brussels and joined in at Woluwe Church (alongside MPs Steve and Dawn Orange and Robbie and Lizzie Bellis).
From February-June she served as a church apprentice on Le Stage 222 at Woluwe. As well as participating in the church student group, the Stage 222 programme involves helping with mums’ and toddlers’ groups, teaching Sunday school, leading a youth group, reading one-to-one with an older Christian and studying one day a week at the Belgian Bible Institute – all in French!

I can’t believe this is my final prayer letter for my year spent in Belgium and I want to start it off with a huge thank you to everyone who has been praying for me over the past 10 months. Thank you as well to anyone who has sent any cards, emails or messages over the year, they’ve been really encouraging and it means a lot to know people have been so supportive of what I’ve been up to. As this is the final letter, I thought it would be good to reflect on lessons I’ve learnt - some more serious and some slightly funnier!
