Edward Nelson was a French-American church pastor who tragically died in a climbing accident in August 2020.
Edward and his wife Laura moved to France in the early 2000s, initially to work with the Christian student movement (GBU). He then planted a church in Paris and catalysed the training of many ministers.
Laura Nelson writes, 'As we come to terms with Edward’s tragic passing, we are inspired by the life he lived for Jesus and are grateful for the outpouring of love we received. We miss him as husband, father, pastor and friend, but also as a committed mentor for young ministers.
'Everyone who knew him knew how passionate Edward was about the gospel and the training of workers for the harvest. Over the last 16 years, he mentored and encouraged over 100 people to be trained for ministry in some capacity.
'Desiring to obey Jesus’ teaching, to follow in Paul’s footsteps and to honour Edward’s life work, we are creating an organisation that will carry on his legacy of training ministers to share Christ. With approximately one church for every 32,000 people, France needs our help to train and send more of God’s workers. Thank you for your generous support and all praise to our great God for his gospel.'
