Chris and Lotta serve at Emmaus Church in Åkersberga, Stockholm.
Chris lead this newly-established church, as well as running outreach ministries in Stockholm City and Uppsala. Lotta is engaged in church administration and in discipleship training. They both hope to produce a course for evangelism and discipleship training that is tailored to the Swedish cultural setting. Chris and Lotta also plan to provide training programmes for those involved in church planting throughout Sweden, and to run training conferences in expository preaching (Schools of Biblical Training) that will empower the Church to stand up for Christ and live out the gospel in the 21st century.

In June, we were allowed to meet in-person again and have our Sunday worship services together physically. But there are many uncertainties as to how things will look in the future and how we will build our ministry in the time to come.
In this newsletter we will first take a look back at our various choices during the COVID-19 crisis and then look to the future and how COVID-19 might affect our ministry going forwards.
In February 2020 we had barely moved to Åkersberga before the COVID-19 restrictions took place and our church had to decide how we were going to move all our ministries online. The question was, how? What would be the best strategy? What tools should we use? How will the church react to being online? We were in a phase of momentum, growth and building a community in the church. At this point we really had no resources to put on an online ministry and we had little experience for live online broadcasting. It was something we had talked about doing in the future but not something we had planned to do now. Our biggest concern during these restrictions and online ministries was that we might lose the momentum we had as a young, small church plant and also lose people along the way.
