‘For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.’ John 3:16
We welcomed 52 children into one of the local schools and put on a holiday club for them. It was the first time the church has done something like this; give thanks for all the children who came and the team that was so willing to serve and share Christ with them. The theme of the week was ‘A Tour of the World’ so we ‘visited’ a new continent each day. The verse of the week was John 3:16. Give thanks for a very catchy song written by a couple from the church which really helped the children learn the Bible verse. I was responsible for the ‘garderie’ (nursery) every morning for the leaders’ children who were too young to participate. I truly enjoyed playing in the park with the babies every day. In the afternoons, I helped with English classes; I even learnt a thing or two myself.
We had invited the families from the holiday club to come. Give thanks that several came and some continue to come.
It was great for the church to come together. Sadly, I wasn’t in the meetings with the adults because I was with the 3-5 year olds. I had fun teaching them about the parables in Matthew.
Four people from the church got baptised recently. It was great to hear their testimonies and hear them proclaim Christ as their Saviour. There were supposed to be five but, sadly, one of the candidates had a cardiac arrest a few days before. Give thanks that he had a successful operation following this and is now recovering at home.
I finally led my bible study. Thank you so much for all your prayers, messages and help - whether that was through discussing the passage with me, reading over my questions or helping me practise the study. It meant so much to me as I was very nervous about it but in the end I enjoyed the experience. Once I started preparing it I had so much fun, studying the passage for myself and then thinking of questions that would help the rest of the class understand the passage too. The hardest part was giving the study itself as I didn’t know how the rest of the class were going to respond. It’s a very lively class and people have a wide range of ideas so sometimes it’s difficult to keep up, especially in French. Give thanks that they were aware of my nerves and spoke a lot slower than normal and tried not to talk over one another. It was a great experience and now I have a new skill that will be very useful in the future.
I gave the gospel presentation ‘Two Ways to Live’ in front of the class. Give thanks for a lovely discussion after my presentation on why I’m a Christian and the differences between Christianity and the other religions.
Thank you for your continued support. I hope you are all well. Please do let me know how I can also be praying for you!
