Noel Ba Lan

Noel is studying at Myanmar Evangelical Graduate School of Theology.

In Myanmar, 80% of the population are Buddhists and life is increasingly difficult for Christians. Despite this, Christianity is growing and there is a need for more trained church leaders.

For the past four years Noel has been serving as youth leader at his church, St Mary’s Mandalay. He now hopes to become a church pastor and so is undertaking theological studies to equip him for this. He writes, 'Iwould like to minister and make many disciples of Christ. I am studying for a Masters in Divinity because I want to be a good pastor.'

Noel has been recommended for these studies by the Bishop of Mandalay Rt Rev David Nyi Nyi Naing. He writes, 'We need new leaders for my diocese and so I highly recommend Noel. He has been serving as a staff member in the church office for four years and has a strong passion to serve in the church, as well as in the area of mission. I know he will become a good leader.'
