January 2023

Dear Friends,
The Christmas season has been and gone again! I wrote this in December, in the middle of preparations and celebrations regarding the birth of Jesus Christ, Son of God, and wanted to take the opportunity to thank God for allowing us to continue serve in his name!

This has been the most challenging year of Prédica Fiel, so far, as we have been continuing to respond to new ministry opportunities and are looking into the future. The work in Cuba remains strong, even after COVID! This last year, we managed to run seven workshops: five for pastors and two for women. The workshops were well attended and included visits from partner organisations. Two of those workshops were in new strategic venues, one in the east and one in the west. As the New Year begins, we are already working towards the coordination of three workshops in February. Please pray for these.

Havana Plan, our weekly training, has also been running at a good pace. We have 41 students involved, several of whom are pastors in local churches. We’re excited for what will be accomplished with this group.

Our project to train Spanish-speaking church planters with the SEND Network has also already started. Over the last few months, we have had an introductory class and some sessions to help them prepare to preach from a book of the Bible. Starting from 10 January, and lasting for 20 weeks, we will be training these 37 church planters on how to handle and preach the Bible faithfully. Pray for wisdom and clarity for those teaching, and perseverance and humility for those learning.

Prayer Points:
1.    Thank God with us for his faithfulness toward our lives and for all that he, in his grace, has been doing through Prédica Fiel.
2.    We ask God to continue to strengthen the work in Cuba, especially given the difficult context there.
3.    We pray that God will help us to train this new generation of church planters.

In Christ,

Alexis Perez
