This past couple of months have been very intense for Prédica Fiel, both inside and outside the country.
I was fortunate to travel to Caguas, Puerto Rico, to lead a workshop in partnership with the Charles Simeon Trust (CST). We taught how to preach from the Minor Prophets, particularly Amos. On the first day, we asked how many of the attendees had preached from the Minor Prophets before. We were astonished that only one out of 69 pastors said they had. When we ask them why they had not preached from these books, they mainly said they had no idea how to handle the challenges of prophetic literature.
Of course, during the workshop, we were very encouraged to see how they made progress in handling this challenging genre. By the end, they expressed their gratitude for the training and their commitment to preach from the Prophets in the future.
We also hosted a Prédica Fiel workshop two weeks ago in Sancti Spiritus, a province located in the centre of the island. It was a new venue for us in an area where the church is growing, especially through church planting. The host pastor, who has been in the area for 10 years, gathered 22 pastors and missionaries from the region. And though he’s been a pastor for 15 years total, he confided: ‘I need to learn how to preach again.’
In the coming months, I will be leading two workshops in Santo Domingo and Santiago de los Caballeros in the Dominican Republic, also in partnership with the CST. Please keep praying for us and for this work as Prédica Fiel continues to train pastors in Cuba and throughout Latin America.
Many Thanks for your support,
