At our church in downtown Santiago, it is very exciting to see how God is at work.
People are growing in love and service, we are receiving newcomers every Sunday, and we have started four new home groups this year. I am also excited to announce that we have begun to train leaders.
Every Monday I am meeting with people who are new to the church, to help them get to know the church from within and also to get to know how the gospel affects everything we think and do as a community. Then, every Thursday, I meet with all of the small group leaders to study the book of Romans. We not only get to spend time together with God’s word and deepen our understanding of the gospel, but also I can help them to take a lead with the pastoral issues they face in their small groups.
We also have started a two year apprentice programme at church. I have recruited Fresia Silva to be trained in the context of our local church and it is very exciting to see her serving the Lord and thinking about ‘doing church’ seriously. Fresia and her husband Jorge were the first gospel fruit that God gave us when we planted the church in 2010.
