June 2019

Thanks so much for your partnership in the gospel over the last 10 years.

Your prayers and support have been so appreciated. This is my final prayer letter; as you know my contract with Crosslinks is ending at the end of August. For those of you making regular contributions to me via Crosslinks, please don’t forget to cancel or re-direct those contributions from the end of August.

Thank you for your prayers about my transition back to Arise. Unfortunately Arise does not feel that they are in a position to pay me from August so, after some prayer, we decided that I resign and focus on developing the biblical counselling studies part-time instead, with the hope of becoming an online tutor long-term. I am currently finishing up at Arise - it’s been an emotional time and as I reflect on my time there I’m so encouraged to see God’s faithfulness. My final task at Arise is to co-ordinate the ‘Empowered to Connect’ conference, designed to help adoptive parents understand the impact of trauma on their children and teach them strategies to support them. The first day was very helpful and over 30 adoptive parents attended. We look forward to the final day on Saturday.

Otty’s recent baptism was a great day. Clint’s brother Brendan and his family came up from Port Elizabeth for the weekend and came to the service and it was brilliant to have Otty officially join the Holy Trinity family. Some of our new friends who are non-believers also attended - an answer to prayer.

Once again, thank you for all the messages of support, financial partnership and prayers. They have seen me through the best of times and the worst of times and I thank God for you all.

With warmest greetings,

Sonia and Clint

Please give thanks for:

  • My time at Arise, the families I have had the privilege of working with over the last 10 years, the friendships I have made and all that God has taught me there.
  • Otty’s growth and development - she is a delight!
  • The opportunity for me to study biblical counselling.

Please pray for:

  • The final day of the ‘Empowered to Connect’ conference next week, that delegates are encouraged, equipped and that their children would be helped through it.
  • The registration of Otty’s adoption in Pretoria, that it would be swift and the paperwork returned to us.
  • My new chapter studying biblical counselling, that I would use it in my life and in the lives of others.
