Sarah is using her professional skills as an arts psychotherapist to serve at Trinity Children’s Centre in Mitchells Plain.
Trinity Children’s Centre is a Christian school that reaches out to children in a community full of violence, substance abuse, domestic conflict, poverty and inequality. The centre provides a space where children can hear the gospel, receive an education and grow in the love of God.
Sarah is using art and craft, music, drama, puppets and play therapy in her work with the children, alongside sharing the good news of Christ with them. She has also set up a sewing project for local women, which she hopes will lead to the development of a clothing label that can generate funds for gospel work.
Throughout lockdown, much of Sarah's work was put on hold. Instead, she produced daily puppet videos to help children deal with what was going on around them and introduce them to Jesus. View Sarah's videos here.

A lot has been happening here in Cape Town, with lots of changes and challenges, but through it all I have seen many encouragements and God’s blessings.
Transform Sewing Course
The number of ladies attending the sewing course has been very low this past month. One week I only had one lady but I drove home praising God for the quality time that we shared. I was able to teach her sewing skills she was keen to learn. She turned up the next week having altered clothing for someone with the skills I'd taught and excitedly came in with her first payment for having done some sewing for someone else. I also went to her house after the class and prayed with her. Her son heard our prayers and asked about it afterwards. She felt very blessed, so despite some challenges I can see God is working for good.
For the ladies who have been coming along we’ve been making Christmas stockings so that we can sell them and begin generating an income for the ladies.
