Nick and Harriet moved to The Gambia in June 2018 to be involved with a small bible school - Servants of the Word (SOW).
Evangelical Christians make up less than 1% of the population of The Gambia and most Christian leaders have had no formal bible training. SOW was established in 2012 to train local gospel workers in preaching and bible-teaching ministries. However, more theologically educated teachers are needed to deliver the course and disciple the students.
Nick is teaching at SOW, as well as helping with the work of GAMFES (Gambian Fellowship of Evangelical Students) and the ministry of local churches. As well as caring for their two young children (Phoebe and Arthur), Harriet is using her experience as an English teacher to help those with poor literacy to access the course at SOW.

A belated happy new year! We hope 2019 has started well for you. Here’s a bit of what we’ve been up to since we last wrote…
We celebrated our first Gambian Christmas!
Our car arrived! And it is just wonderful to have a reliable and comfortable means of transport... we realise this is a real luxury out here and are SO grateful for the way it makes life significantly easier.
