Laura is serving in Kampala, Uganda from January to May 2019, alongside Chris and Ros Howles at Ugandan Martyrs Seminary (UMS).
After graduating from university, Laura worked as a ministry trainee at her home church, Christ Church Harpenden. The role was varied and included administration, youth and children's work, giving talks and leading Sunday services. Laura also studied on the Cornhill Training Course and grew in her knowledge of the Bible and ability to teach it to others. Since then, Laura has worked as the youth worker at Christ Church Harpenden. She writes, 'In my church, there are lots of individuals and families involved in overseas mission work who, every now and then, return to inform the church about what they've been doing. This has inspired me to go and do likewise.'
Laura is using the skills that God has given her to teach the 350-strong Sunday school at UMS Church of Uganda, as well as helping Ros home-school Josh, Dan and Chloe. Laura is attending some lectures at UMS and getting alongside female students for one-to-one and small-group bible studies.
A lot has happened since my last prayer letter! Time has been flying by and I can’t believe that I am now eight weeks into my trip to Namugongo!
I’ve just read over the prayer points from my last letter and I am so encouraged to see how God has been answering these. Thank you to all those of you who have been holding me in your prayers; I feel truly blessed by your kind support.
