Francis Sender

Francis is a BEST study partner at Uganda Christian University.

Francis is from the Diocese of Mara in Tanzania. In 2008, Francis resigned from his job as a teacher so that he could take up full-time Christian ministry. Since then, Francis has worked as project director for a Christian children's project in Bunda, as Administrative Secretary to the Diocese of Mara, as a deacon, priest and canon for St. John’s Cathedral, and, since March 2017, as a school chaplain at a local Christian primary school.

Francis now wishes to pursue further theological education, to help him as he serves the Church in Mara diocese. He writes, 'I am called to serve Christ in Mara and beyond through preaching, teaching and training others for Christ. My background in teaching will help me as I equip many for the kingdom of God - for instance teaching at St. John’s University in Dodoma. The skills I learn in doing an MA will enable me to evangelise unreached places in Mara and Tanzania at large. I also hope to support Bunda Bible College in Mara, helping with the teaching and administration so that the college can train more students from Tanzania and beyond.'
