Adam is serving in Johannesburg, South Africa as the youth worker at Hope Church Auckland Park.
Hope Church Auckland Park holds out the good news of the gospel to the diverse communities in the city. It is led by mission partners James and Lucy Buchanan and, though the church is growing fast, it is in great need of more workers.
After spending six months serving at Hope Church in 2016, Adam returned in Spring 2018 to serve as a ministry trainee. Adam has been studying part-time at Johannesburg Bible College and serving in different areas of church life including music, youth work and student ministry. Adam is passionate about developing the youth ministry and began his role as the youth worker at the end of 2019.
As I reflect on the past year, I realise there’s been a recurring theme which many of you may also be able to relate to. Simply put, we’re vulnerable and weak but Christ is supreme and ever present with his people!
As a church over the last few months, we’ve been looking through the great letter written by Paul to the Colossians. I’ve been immensely encouraged and challenged to be reminded of Christ’s supremacy over all. He alone is the true wisdom of God and, being fully sufficient, he brings fullness and dwells within all who humbly depend on him. There are radical implications to this in a whole range of areas but I’ve found these realities to be particularly helpful in the following areas.
