Word Works envisions God’s people enjoying God’s word, all their lives. It is a Bible teaching and Bible training para-church project to help Christian leaders faithfully handle and proclaim God’s word.
The Philippines is a ‘Christian nation’ but perhaps not a ‘Bible people’, yet. An estimated 90% of Filipinos are Christians. About 8% of those are evangelicals, while the rest are Roman Catholics. That’s about 8 million ‘Bible-based’ Christians in a population of 110 million. They attend independent churches, and report low levels of regularly engaging with the Bible.
Third Caampued is the project head of Word Works. He is currently based in Metro Manila, after training at Cornhill in the UK and working as one of the ministry staff at St Stephen’s Westbourne Park, London. His work is centered in opening the Bible with Christian leaders and prayerfully taking God’s word seriously. This happens in the form of face-to-face, online, one-to-one and group meetings. By the grace of the God, and the work of the Holy Spirit, he aims to help God’s people to remain steadfast, enjoy, and faithfully proclaim the good news that is in the Lord Jesus.
Looking ahead, there’s an opportunity for Word Works to host Cornhill training online. This will increase the number of Filipinos who will hear lectures straight from Cornhill and join preaching practice groups conducted in their native language.
