SBT:NI is a network of churches and organisations which are equipping the emerging church in North India.

There are 2,135 unreached people groups in India, and the majority are in the centre and the north. Yet incredibly, God’s church is growing and the last 15 years have seen an unprecedented number of people turning to Christ in North India with over 2 million in two large networks alone.

The challenge is to sustain the momentum of church planting and to help these new believers grow into disciple-making disciples. Many pastors of churches are self-appointed by virtue of their being a Christian the longest in their community. They have a passion for evangelism and prayer but no training in how to teach and handle God’s word.

Run by DV*, SBT:NI is training church planters and leaders to study, teach and apply God’s word faithfully and effectively in Hindi. These trained believers then train others to do the same in a de-centralised, multiplying network. This work involves running regular regional workshops, offering accredited theological qualifications and conferences.

Through the ministry of SBT:NI, over 1,000 people are being trained each year to faithfully teach God’s word in North India.

SBT:NI also partners with a ministry seeking to meet children’s visible need for education and their invisible need for the gospel. To find out more about this ministry, contact the Crosslinks office.
