Michael’s passion is for everyone to meet Jesus for themselves as they read and understand Scripture. He works with the BUILD initiative, which exists to equip local church leaders who have limited access to traditional training, primarily in East Africa.
Michael used to work as a secondary Geography teacher in South London, before studying at Union School of Theology alongside working for his church family. Whilst hugely enjoying studying, getting to know Jesus better and growing in love of God, Michael also had a growing frustration that there are so many barriers to theological study and ministry training. These thoughts and conversations led to spending time with BUILD in Kenya where Michael was able to be part of a training week and loved seeing people grow in confidence in understanding Scripture for themselves.
Michael now has the joy of using his teaching experience to help strengthen and expand the work of BUILD, helping to resource and meet the ever-increasing demand for biblical ministry training across East Africa and beyond. While, on this webpage, Michael is linked to Uganda (BUILD’s birthplace), he is UK-based, working with the BUILD Partners charity.
Michael is actively involved in his church in the UK, where he has run some of the BUILD training.
