Prakash was born into a devoted Hindu family. His parents taught him that Hindu gods are the only true gods, not Jesus Christ. The family would also consult witch doctors and ask for help. Prakash’s parents were alcoholics and Prakash also began to drink too much and to fight with his family and neighbours. There were Christians in the area Prakash grew up in and when they tried to share the gospel with Prakash, he and his family persecuted them.
When Prakash was 17 years old, his father fell sick and was paralysed. As per the family’s tradition, they consulted their witch doctor for help. But despite many visits, Prakash’s father remained ill. They tried medical treatment in the hospital, but that didn’t work either. As hopelessness began to take over, they took Prakash’s father to church – where, to their astonishment, he began to recover and was eventually healed. The family started to attend church regularly and accepted Jesus as their Lord and Saviour.
Prakash is studying for an MDiv at Nepal Ebenezer Bible College in Kathmandu so that he can be the full-time minister for his church. He says, ‘this course will help me in my ministry, to be stable, to steward the church and to lead people well.’
Prakash is a year into his two-year course. He needs £1,650 to cover his studies (which includes a 10% administration fee). This is made up of £550 for 2021 − 2022 and £1,100 for 2022 – 2023. Please consider joining Prakash in gospel partnership, praying with him and supporting him financially.
