Joshua was born in a Christian home and his father is a church pastor. He personally accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour when he heard a sermon on John 3:16. Joshua writes that, since that day, ‘Jesus Christ the Lord has been good to me. The Lord has been strengthening me every day of my life and providing my need even when I do not deserve it. I can see the work of the Lord in my life.’
In Joshua’s church, people’s understanding of God is very poor. Sexual immorality, particularly adultery, is very common, and many of the youth are into drinking and stealing. Many of the congregation profess faith with their speech and deny it through their actions.
Joshua strongly believes that the Lord is calling him to be a pastor. He hopes that his studies will equip him with a deeper understanding of the Bible and how to handle it correctly, as well as with a better understanding of contemporary culture’s challenges.
Joshua needs £540 to cover his studies (which includes a 10% administration fee). This is made up of £100 for 2023, £220 for 2024 and £220 for 2025.
