Joel is a BEST study partner with Uganda Christian University
Joel was raised as a Christian from childhood, brought up by Anglican parents who were members of the East African Revival. After years of youthful rebellion and wandering, he was brought to faith on 27 June 2005 at a crusade in an independent church in Kampala.
Since becoming a Christian, God has blessed Joel with a family and a business. In addition, the Lord has increased his responsibilities in the church community. In the recent past, Joel has had the privilege of contributing to the diocesan synod and participating in the communication work of the church. Currently, he is involved in the governance of Uganda’s oldest mission hospital and a church-founded high school.
Joel writes, ‘Over the past ten years, the Lord has been calling me to a deeper life of church service through different people and various circumstances. Through bereavement, through the generosity of others, through miraculous provision of life’s needs and through the encouragement of elders, the Spirit led me to the point where I could not but say ‘Yes’ to the call to dedicate the rest of my life to full time service in the church.’
