Gutema is a study partner at Nekemte Christian Education College.

Gutema is from a Muslim family in western Ethiopia. When in his early 20s, Gutema was very hostile to Christianity and one day went to a church with the intention of burning it down. However, when he got to the church, the Lord opened Gutema’s eyes to the gospel. He did not attack the church and instead turned to Christ in faith. Since then, Gutema has become an ardent missionary for Jesus, reaching out with the good news to those in his community.

Since 2019, Gutema has worked at his church in Nekemte as an evangelist and missionary. He has a diploma in theology but has had no other training for his ministry role. Gutema would like to continue serving in ministry long-term, preaching in the church and planting a new church among unreached people. To equip him for this, Gutema is studying for a degree in theology at Nekemte Christian Education College.

Training
Gutema is studying for a Bachelors in Practical Theology from August 2021 – June 2025. He needs £760 per year for four academic years.
