Franco is studying the BTh at Uganda Baptist Seminary in Jinja, Uganda.
Franco became a Christian in 2007. He was at a seminar at his local church that his father, an elder, had told him to attend. At the seminar, Franco’s pastor read out Psalm 103:12: ‘as far as the east is from the west so far has he removed our transgressions from us’, and gave anyone willing a chance to come forward. Franco surrendered and committed his life to Jesus and asked for the forgiveness of his sins. Since then, Franco has ‘been walking with Jesus Christ by faith’ and God has been at work in Franco’s life, growing him in his own relationship with the Lord and using him to share the gospel with others.
Franco is currently the pastor of a small local church in Uganda. The church has suffered much poor leadership and prosperity gospel teaching from the ‘wolves in sheep’s clothing’ of Acts 20:29-30 in the last two decades. It is great need of a faithful, humble, servant-hearted leader and Bible teacher, which is why Franco is pursuing theological training. The faithful core of 40 members is steadily growing and Franco wants to shepherd and teach them well. His hope is to grow in knowledge, love and service of the Lord through his theological training so he might be better equipped to lead his church upon his return.
