Study Partner

Evans Opiyo

BA in Theology
Great Lakes University of Kisumu
2022 – 2025

Evans is a BEST study partner with Great Lakes University of Kisumu. He is studying for a BA in Theology.

Evans was born and raised in a Christian family. Both his mother and grandmother served in the church as lay readers and modelled ministry for him. Evans gave his life to Christ as a teenager in 1995, having just joined high school. Since then, Evans has used his drive for mission and evangelism to share the gospel’s message of hope with all who need to hear it in his current post in a rural diocese in Bondo. The community is fraught with poverty, disease, unemployment, child labour, teenage pregnancies and HIV/AIDS.

Evans has a heart for sharing the gospel and is passionate about the power it has to save life in the future and to transform life now. He recognises the need to increase his Bible handling skills and experience through further training.

He is married to Judith and they have three children: Mary Jane (15) Timothy Brian (13) and Emmanuel Blessings (12).
