Study Partner

Amos Mutezimana

Bachelor of Divinity
Bishop Barham University College
2022 – 2024

Amos is a BEST study partner with Bishop Barham University College in Kabale, Uganda.

Amos had the privilege of growing up in a Christian family, and was baptised at a young age. His parents took him to church and Sunday school, and he served in the youth choir and holiday Bible groups in his home church. It was while Amos was at high school that he got involved in evangelism, talking with his friends, visiting the local hospital and coordinating outreach with neighbouring churches. It was a time of great personal encouragement, as the evangelism work bore lots of fruit. Many people came to church to hear God’s word taught and accept him as their Lord and Saviour.

After completing high school, Amos taught as an elementary teacher in Gitega. While teaching, he felt God’s call to pursue full time ministry, and he subsequently went to study Theology at the Theological Institute in Matana for three years. Currently, Amos serves as the rector of Kayanza Parish and spearheads the evangelism department in the Diocese of Buye. Amos hopes to study a Bachelor of Divinity to develop his Bible teaching skills and broaden his theological knowledge, so he is equipped to teach in the Diocesan Bible College of Buye.

There is great need in Burundi for well-trained Bible teachers, and Amos has a vision to see the next generation of faithful church leaders raised up. Amos is married to Jovelyne Biziyaremye and they have three children: Berenisse (ten years old), Paisable (six years old) and Peniele (two years old).

Amos needs £3,630 to cover his studies (which includes a 10% administration fee). This is made up of £1,210 for each of his three academic years of study (2023-2024, 2024-2025 and 2025-2026). Please consider joining Amos in gospel partnership, praying with him and supporting him financially. Through partnering with Joseph, you can play a real part in indigenous gospel mission.
