JOHN McLERNON Mission Director
The Mission Director holds a key leadership position within Crosslinks. With the Board of Trustees, John is responsible for developing the vision and strategy of Crosslinks.
Previously, John was the UK director of People International for 13 years, leading a team focused on establishing and enabling the church in Central Asia. Before becoming involved in full-time Christian ministry, John’s background was in Technology.
John is originally from Portrush on the coast of Northern Ireland. He is married to Maggie and they have two daughters. They are members of St John's Church, Tunbridge Wells.
Of his appointment, John said, ‘I am excited about the prospect of standing alongside this current generation of gospel workers and recruiting and preparing the next generation for gospel ministry. I will be meeting lots of new people, hearing their stories and trying to discern how we might best support their work. That's great fun but exhausting. Please pray for me!'
GILES RAWLINSON Operations Director
Giles has been Crosslinks Operations Director since 2008 and oversees all the day to day operations of the Society from the London office in Lewisham.
Giles qualified as a Company Secretary and has an MBA from London Business School. He and his wife, Caroline, have been members of Emmanuel, Wimbledon for 30 years.
They have two golden retrievers.
BETH BUCHANAN Mission Personnel Team Leader
Beth Buchanan was born and brought up in Cape Town where she studied and qualified as a solicitor.
She moved to the UK in 1990 and spent many years as a partner in a large national law firm, specialising in medical law. She took a late gap year in 2010, spending seven months in Kigali, Rwanda with Africa Inland Mission, involved in different ministries supporting the long term team. She left the law to join Crosslinks in 2016.
Beth lives in Raynes Park, London and attends Dundonald Church where she leads a women’s bible study and is involved in various serving ministries.
DAVID LUCKMAN Ireland Team Leader
David has been working for Crosslinks since 2015. He read theology at Oak Hill College, London, from 1992-1995 and went on to study a PGCE in Religious Education at King’s College, London in 1996.
After teaching in Poole, Dorset for a year, David returned home to go to the Church of Ireland Theological College in Dublin. He was ordained for ministry in the Church of Ireland in 2000 and served in churches in Counties Armagh and Fermanagh.
David is a member of Lambeg Church of Ireland in County Down. He enjoys reading, walking and playing the drums.
JAMIE READ Mission Partnerships Team Leader
Jamie has been with Crosslinks since 2016, before which he served as curate at St Peter’s, Tunbridge Wells.
After preparing for Christian ministry in Glasgow and London, Jamie and his wife Helen enjoyed five formative years as Crosslinks mission partners in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. Teaching in a small bible college and serving at the local church lead to Jamie’s ordination with REACH SA in 2011 before moving back to the UK in 2012.
Jamie and Helen, along with their three boys, live outside Sevenoaks and belong to St Nicholas Church. When possible, he enjoys long walks, fly-fishing and the task of training Baggins, their cocker-spaniel.
