Jony and Jenny are working to develop CEBA, the Centro de Exposición Bíblica Argentina, to help train the next generation of ‘pastors and teachers…so that the body of Christ may be built up.’ (Ephesians 4:11-12)
After eleven years away from Buenos Aires, training at Cornhill and Oak Hill, then pastoring a small revitalisation in Rosario and then moving across the Andes to teach at CEP (the Anglican seminary in Chile), Jony and Jenny, with their three children, are now back in Buenos Aires, working to develop CEBA.
They have two main priorities over the coming years. On the one hand, running short training courses, including Jony serving as an instructor with the Simeon Trust, building towards launching an initial one-year full-time expository preaching course grounded in thorough exegesis, with the expectation that this will then grow into a two or three-year BTh programme.
On the other hand, to be better equipped, Jony is also working part-time on a PhD in Greek linguistics, paired with the development of a Greek textbook. He has a passion for New Testament Greek that stems from his passions for thorough exegesis and faithful expository ministry, so that the church in Argentina may grow in ‘unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.’ (Ephesians 4:13)
