Affiliated to IFES, The Fellowship of Evangelical Students in The Gambia (GamFES) is a national, inter-denominational evangelical student movement. It was founded in April 1996.
GamFES has been involved in rural outreaches annually since 1999 and have been impressed by the commitment of some of the FES students and church youth. Their hope is that these young people will be motivated to spend more time proclaiming the gospel among their own peoples in their local languages. However, currently, most of the available material in use has many contextual challenges, as well as biblically unfaithful content. Therefore, GamFES identified an Evangelism Resource Centre as a viable approach to establish a contextually relevant, biblically faithful, and locally accessible pool of tools for evangelism in the Gambia.
The goal is to collect together, write, publish literature and audio-visual material; provide equipment; a website and internet service with staff to manage the centre so that tools for evangelism can be made available to individuals, churches and other Christian organizations in the Gambia.

Whilst the needs are great, finance is often a restricting factor in establishing such a project. Crosslinks has agreed funding of £6000 per year for three years from 2008. This will meet the total budgeted costs of setting up the Resource Centre.
