What is Ayanda Jacobs doing?

Ayanda Jacobs is a 34 year old South African lady. After a sad and difficult childhood she was wonderfully converted and has spent the last ten years or so involved in pastoral ministry within the Independent Methodist church of South Africa, preaching on a local radio station and working at the Bible Institute of the Eastern Cape (BIEC).

BIEC is an interdenominational and evangelical theological training college. Through leadership training it aims to empower churches, especially from disadvantaged areas of the Eastern Cape, to help make disciples of Christ through evangelism, Bible teaching, pastoral care and practically serving the community.

Ayanda’s association with BIEC goes back to 1998 when she enrolled as a part-time student. She joined the college staff after completing her Batchelor of Theology degree, and is now fulfilling a number of roles as a member of staff. She is personal assistant to the Principal and also lectures the first year diploma class on the life of Christ—a course based on the study of Matthew’s gospel. As well as this she is a personal mentor for six college students whom she helps primarily with prayer and encouragement.
