What is Benoit doing?
Benoit was born on 15th April 1973 in Togo, the oldest of six children, and he comes from a non-Christian family that worshipped idols and spirits. After finishing his A-levels he went to work with a company as a carpenter where he met a British man who spoke to him about the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. Benoit decided to follow Jesus and his British friend taught him the Bible each afternoon after work. They also formed a prayer group with some other people and after an introduction to a local pastor Benoit joined a church. Two years after his conversion, Benoit started missionary training with YWAM in Togo, and went to the Republic of Benin and Nigeria for outreach. He later went to Ghana to do the School of Biblical Study before returning to Togo to attend the West African Advanced School of Theology where he graduated from in 2005. He is married to Melanie and they have a son called God’s Love and a daughter called Daniela.
At the moment Benoit and Melanie work in Dapaong (the most northern district of Togo) alongside Sena and Jane Ounate-Lare, Crosslinks mission partners. Benoit is working amongst the Fulani and the Moba tribes, and specifically is helping disciple many members of the Fulani tribe who were Muslims but have become Christians. He has also recently taken on the leadership of a new church plant in Tantigou.
