Prayer News September 2008.
Dear friends and mission partners,
Croatia in August
We have had an extremely hot summer and in September this year Novi Sad scored new records in hot and cold temperatures. The first week in September we had 37/38 degrees Celsius and this week below 15 on day time and below 10 at night which is also very very unusual for September. Talking about getting all records at once...
Finally the rain came and it is going to stay for a week or two, it really is wonderful, believe me... Thank you all for all your prayers concerning the weather. Though it didn't save the corn it did save the sunflower which is going to bring a very good harvest.
We are in the middle of our planning for the October-December, it might seem funny in your eyes but the culture here is sometimes more event oriented rather than time oriented which brings difficulties to people like us who like to plan everything in advance at least 6 moths. Well sometimes we are glad if we can have dates in one or in the best case two months ahead. It took us some time to get used to this. Now what we do is preliminary dates, so that we agree preliminary for a date two three months ahead and then just hopes for the best. It has actually worked quite well these last years.
Prayer subjects:
- Continue to pray for one of the Elders in our Church, he is struggling with cancer.
- Pray for us as the new term starts, amongst other things we are going to train several new materials...
- We are still looking desperately for a new place to live in...
- In October we will have Pastor Andrew McClellan from St Nicholas Church in London who will do a workshop in biblical preaching, please remember this in your prayer, pray that we will be able to motivate Serbian Pastors to attend...
