Prayer Update September 2008
KARAGWE CALLING
Dear Friends,
Oh dear, I must have relaxed well to leave the Prayer Update this late!! Please forgive me!
I am still here in the UK, but now packing ready to leave next week. It has been a good break, although I feel somewhat depleted of sun!! Well, I know the UK has unpredictable summers, but this year....! I spent 1 week in Wales, one of my favourite haunts, & I can tell you the waterfalls were quite spectacular. (You see, I do find a positive despite needing raincoats & sweaters every day of the holiday there!)
HIGH POINTS OF THE BREAK
- A Retreat at Penhurst Retreat House near Battle, Sussex. (Bit odd isn't it, going on retreat in Battle?!) It was a special time of peace, being brought closer to God, & being encouraged. I especially enjoyed the balance between times of silence & times of socialising.
- My friend Bev's 50th Birthday party, where I felt like one of the family, & we had great fun 'catching up'.
- Playing my flute again. You know, I never play in Tanzania, but I now think it is important for me to have some creative outlets.
- Enjoying a visit to my sister & her family, & actually meeting the whole gang in one go!
- Eating brown bread, lots of cheese & lots of salad!
POINTS FOR PRAISE & PRAYER
- Flavian is holding everything together, praise God for his willingness, but pray he doesn't lose enthusiasm by being too tired.
- Gerevase, our driver, has cared well for the Land Cruiser. Thank God for this provision. Pray Gerevase experiences a new encounter with our loving God.
- Pray for Lewitha who has been very unwell & in hospital for a few days. Pray for Henerico too as he worries about her!
- Praise God for the break I have had. Please pray that the Diocese will soon appoint a new Administrator/Programme Manager so we can move the work forward.
- Please pray I have safety in travel as I return, & pray I am allowed to pace myself.
A big thank you to Jean for putting up with me disrupting her life for 6 weeks! She is a star! Thank you to all of you for your love & concern for me & for this work of the Lord. May God refresh you as he has refreshed me,
With my love,
Bridget Hathaway
