Prayer Update August 2008
KARAGWE CALLING
Dear Friends,
Well here I am in the UK, after a very hectic few weeks before I left Tanzania. It was difficult to have time to prepare psychologically for the change in culture, so I have moments of feeling a bit 'thrown', but I am well apart from that!
* A large amount of prayer went into the vehicle-issue over the past couple of months, but PRAISE GOD we received the vehicle on 11th July, and arrived in Karagwe on Tuesday 15th July. Thank you to everyone who has had a hand in the venture, whether it be donations, prayer or encouraging me! I can tell you the vehicle is just wonderful to drive, and a joy to my creaking bones!! What a blessing to us all. The Land Rover is back at the garage for spare parts, after which I will use it for personal use, saving the hill rides on my bicycle. (But I will not leave the bicycle unused; exercise is good!)
* I visited Flavian in Uganda on my way back to the UK. He is doing so well, & is popular with his fellow students. He assures me he will take over the field work when he returns! Praise God, that is something I really wanted to happen.
* Lewitha is finding it hard to run the work on her own. Pray she keeps in good health, & feels at peace with the responsibility.
* Pray for wisdom as we wait on God for the interveiws & appointment of an Administrator/Programme Manager for the work. I feel that if we can appoint a competent person in this post, I can plan the gradual handover to local leadership.
* Praise God for all he is doing within our Parish in Kayanga. Pray for Pastor Manase & his wife Mama Fiobe, as they take an opportunity for a weeks seminar & spiritual refreshment in Morogoro, Tanzania. That they would have safe travelling.
* Please continue to pray for Crosslinks, as they are short-staffed at present, which creates extra responsibilities for those who remain.
May God refresh & renew us all in his love as we take time to be with him in our busy daily lives,
With my love,
Bridget Hathaway
