Prayer Update July 2008
We thank God for many blessings:
First Helen, then Sue and Chris and finally Joy to help out with the increased English load at college. All have now returned home, but give their time and service freely and sacrificially.
Graduation for Pre Diploma and Pre Degree was a joyful occasion, especially as all students passed their final exams and were guaranteed entrance to the Diploma and Degree courses. There was a tangible joy and relief as we danced, prayed, thanked God, received certificates and ate together. (Pray now that each student can find the fees needed to continue).
At the main Graduation three days later, 20 Dip in Ministries Students, 13 Dip in Applied Students and 8 Secretarial students celebrated the end of their course and the start of their future work and ministry. We pray that God will guide and use these servants for His sake and in His name.
Joy (from New Zealand) and Pastor Charles led us in a day of Prayer and Fasting for the college on 6th June. After a service of confession and worship, all staff and students walked the boundary and prayed where and when the Spirit guided us. Joy challenged us from what God had laid on her heart for Msalato. In the afternoon there was time for private reflection and prayer. We have seen God answer many of our prayers in the weeks that followed. We are not through all the problems yet, but are convinced that God is at work in our college, and the lives of His children there.
Our Principal Moses Matonya was too sick to attend the prayer day as he was struck down with serious malaria. Praise God, after lots of treatment and much prayer, he is on his feet again. Moses is supported by Mkunda (Administrator) and Charles (Academic Dean) and the three are a strong and godly leadership team.
The end of term came at last! We have just had a lovely holiday in Ruaha Game Park – a truly beautiful place where we stayed in a Banda overlooking the river with Hippo, impala, giraffe kudu and wonderful birds our frequent visitors. We were so refreshed by the beautiful scenery and seeing many wonderful animals made by our Creator God. This was followed by a couple of days in Dar where I had a Yellow Fever jab, we shopped, caught up with friends and saw Prince Caspian at the cinema!! A real treat.
At last! Tim should be off to the States in three weeks time, and we pray the plane ZBZ will be ready in time.
I’m enjoying a couple of weeks at home to catch up with a lot of jobs that have been on hold. The curtains need washing, I’m making chutney and jam (with tomatoes and fruit bought cheaply by the bucket on the road back from Dar), sorting out the office and thinking about Power Point presentations for the end of the year. On 21st July we will be back at college in preparation for the new year and its challenges, refreshed I pray, and ready to start again.
Bless you for your continued partnership with us here in Tanzania through your prayer and your love.
With our love and thanks from
Tim and Carol
