Prayer Update April 2008

Hi folks!  Thank you for reading these requests and supporting us in your prayers!

1. Mum and Dad in Australia are finally moving house on Friday!!  It seems they have a lot of offers of help and my brother Peter and Karen will return from holiday to be with them. They are tired of boxes, so pray for a smooth move for them and energy – it’s a lot to do, and they are not that young anymore!!

2. At college we have a new group of students in – 6 pastors on the pre-degree course hoping to start degree studies in August.  The additional testing day on Monday went well.  Pray for Robyn who is co-ordinating the course.

3. We were especially thrilled when two candidates from Mbeya didn’t make the grade for degree, but when we suggested they join diploma instead, they were pleased to do so.  It means we have a better number of students in pre-diploma now, for which we thank God.  Another pastor from Mbeya, who heard about us from the others also joined us on Friday.  Pray we can quickly integrate them in to the course and they can catch up on missed work.

4. Oesimus, a Kenyan student who had to return home in February as he didn’t have a full passport so not fulfilling immigration requirements, has just managed to get a passport and will return any day.  Pray for him as he catches up with work missed.

5. Praise God for Sue and Chris’s safe arrival/ return.  Helen leaves later in May and we have Joy from New Zealand arriving this week. Please pray for me as I co-ordinate this ever-changing team, and that we meet the needs of our students well.

6.  MAF operations in Tanzania are 45 years old this week.  We have an Open Day on Saturday which will be attended by local government and church dignitaries as well as friends and customers.  Pray this will put a human face on MAF and encourage greater partnership and use by the community.

7. Rain has returned over the last too weeks, but its too late for many, great for some, and other complain that their crops are rotting because it is too wet to harvest.  Please pray for wisdom for folk and the right amount of rain in the right places.

Thanks for you continued support – we really appreciate it – your prayers are a great encouragement to us.

Love,

Tim and Carol
