The Salem Project

Norman and Denise went to Slough to work with the Asian population on behalf of Crosslinks in 1988.
After 6 1/2 years working with St. Paul's and following a 'vision' from God, the Salem Project began on January 1st 1995. Since then it has grown into an organisation that is viewed nationally as part of the cutting-edge of mission amongst people of other-faiths. The Project's mission statement is 'making Christ known among people of all races and cultures' and we seek to do this through personal friendships, training courses which equip and enable Christians and through both holding resources and being a resource to the wider Church. We work throughout the Oxford Diocesan area and the Thames Valley region, but also nationally. We are linked with organisations like the 'Alliance of Asian Christians' and we play a leading part in the 'Faith to Faith Network of Trainers.' We are also linked with a number of Deaneries, local Churches and a number of individuals and Trusts. We are very grateful to God for these links and for the prayer and financial support they give.
Norman continues to act as Executive Director of Salem and is a full-time staff member. We also have the services of Wilson and Rebecca Gill on a part-time basis. Although Denise was the co-founder of Salem, since her ordination she has moved into a new ministry. In 1999 following ordination, she became the Curate of Christ Church, Flackwell Heath and has fulfilled a very fruitful ministry. Now though, she has been appointed as Team Vicar in the Risborough Team Ministry, with special responsibility for Lacey Green, Loosley Row and Speen.
Please pray for wisdom for Norman as he continues to develop the Salem Project and for God's continued provision of prayer and financial support. For Denise as she prepares to move and take on this new responsibility.
