Prayer letter September 2007

Dear family & friends,

So sorry we have were not able to see all we would have wished to,
during our summer break. Now we are back in Bangkok. Since returning
we have been extremely blessed with some wonderful people passing
through our home, such fun, as well as serious moments. Especially
those who have a heart for areas we have a heart for. We are
establishing more & more links with people who have a heart for the
Burmese displaced Karen people in the Refugee camps, near the border,
as well as those who want to be involved practically. We're building a
greater network, as well as producing a booklet on safe practices for
volunteers who come to us.

One latest escapade has been capturing all the ferile cats on the
compound – I have trapped & netted 6 so far, with a few more to go. I
had to house them in a safe room, for 5 days, as we caught them one at
a time. Thought I had lost 4 of them, but they had managed to squeeze
into the aircon unit – a tiny hole – unbelievable!!! So had to
re-capture them, and took them to an Animal Welfare place, out of
town. They are being neutered as we speak, to return to the compound,
so as to safeguard other cats taking their places.

Our latest Alpha has started and all the participants are
non-believers. We have a couple in the congregation who manage a 5
star hotel, The Sukotai, and are going to host the Alpha away day – it
is 10 doors up from us. Could not be better. We are going to start a
Church Health check soon – using the 7 Marks of a Healthy Church
material. Speaking of health we have been very concerned with our lack
of exercise, as it is too hot to walk out or exercise in the great
outdoors (and too polluted). A lovely Chinese Christian lawyer has
moved into the Fraser Suite, a large Service Apartment building, right
across the road from us, with a fantastic gym & infinity pool, and has
given us free access to her home & apartment facilities. A great place
for Pete to have some clear thinking time. And as we exercise on the
equipment we overlook the Church & grounds – what a wonderful way to
get fit and to pray over the church! Thank you Lord.
