In Everything Pray

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving present your requests to God. And the peace of God which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus”. - Philippians 4:6-7

We thank all of you for faithfully reading our letters and praying for the work we are involved with in Durban. We hope our updates have reflected the fact that God does hear and answer our prayers in all the big and small things of our lives.

Our last letter reflected the way God has been at work here for the last few years and in this one we write with our “Home Leave” in view and request prayer for the Future.

Highlights from the last few months…

teaching

Vaughan Roberts came out to speak at The Bible Talks Mission week on Campus back in April. With talks on three different sites, we saw large numbers attending and many responding to the gospel.

Our Mid Year Conference in July was attended by around 80 students who reported being transformed by the teaching and excited to return again next year.

In August Carrie Sandom returned to Durban to speak at our annual KZN Women’s Convention which was attended by around 500 women from a mixture of denominations from around our Province. This was a very challenging and encouraging time.

September is ‘Service month’ wherein Christ Church Glenwood will be challenged to think through what it means to serve in the church. Following this, October is our MISSION MONTH. We will have four evangelistic Services and a number of Outreach events organised by our small group bible studies.

Family Fun

elephant  picnic

Rebekah’s Dad visited us in July for the kids two week school holiday. We spent this special time driving through Swaziland and up to Kruger National Park. Up at dawn and in the wild brought us close encounters with Lions and Elephant and much more. This was a real treat!

Between the Teachers strike action, a stolen car, a car accident and various sicknesses, Naomi, Nathanael and Natalia continue to progress at school. Naomi is an avid reader whilst Nathanael is proving himself on the Running track and the Hockey field. This week their school choir is performing with Ladysmith Black Mambazo. Another treat to enjoy! Natalia and Noah are growing up fast and each has their own character.
