Ahonsou

Benoit was born on 15th April 1973 in Togo. He is the oldest of six children. He comes from a non-Christian family that worshipped idols and spirits. After finishing his A levels he went to work with a company as a carpenter. There he met a British man who spoke to him about the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross and Benoit decided to follow Jesus. His British friend gave him Bible teaching each afternoon after work. They also formed a prayer group with some other people. Benoit was introduced to a local pastor and got involved in a church. Two years after his conversion, Benoit started missionary training with YWAM in Togo. Later he went to the Republic of Benin and Nigeria for his outreach. He later went to Ghana to do the School of Biblical Study. After Ghana he returned to Togo to attend the West African Advanced School of Theology. He completed his Bachelor of Theology in 2005. He is married to Melanie and they have a son called God’s Love (born 2004) and a daughter Daniela (born 2007).

At the moment Benoit and Melanie are serving as Crosslinks south to south mission partners in Dapaong (the most northern district of Togo). They are working with Sena and Jane Ounate-Lare, Crosslinks mission partners. Benoit is working amongst the Fulani and the Moba tribes. In recent months many of the Fulani tribe who were Muslims have become Christians. Benoit and Melanie are now involved in discipleship programmes with them.
