Manchester considers itself to be England’s second city and has a self-confidence born of a proud history of industry, art and culture. It has the largest student population in the UK outside London, a significant population of young adults, and very wide ethnic and cultural diversity.
For all its positives, Greater Manchester suffers from a shocking lack of Bible-teaching churches. Phil and others started a network of churches called The Plant in 2004 in an attempt to help address this, starting with the student and recent graduate populations. They are steadily widening their aims in the hope of reaching more of Manchester’s unreached groups.
Phil is an Associate Mission Partner. He is married to Louise.
