Church Partnerships Team - our job

"I was impressed that Crosslinks was committed to learning about our situation so that the expository preaching and discussion with our mission support group were both appropriate and fruitful. Their thoughtful follow-up has helped us to think biblically about what gospel partnership might look like as we engage with our mission partners."

Andy Bousfield, Senior Associate Minister, Christ Church Surbiton Hill

"You certainly gave me food for thought and it was helpful in thinking through the whole partnership idea."

Mike Warren, St Peter's Tunbridge Wells.

"Your commitment to enabling and equipping for gospel ministry was applauded - and exactly the sort of thing we want to back."

Neil Barber, St Giles Normanton.

Nearly 70% of the world's population does not acknowledge Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour.

And with every day that passes, people are dying without a saving knowledge of Christ.

This is the reality that faces us all: the urgent challenge to bring God's Word to God's World.

We're here to help!

It can seem a daunting task, but Crosslinks is here to help churches meet that challenge.

From its launch in 1922 the Bible Churchmen's Missionary Society (BCMS) - now Crosslinks - has sought to promote obedience to the Great Commission as much at home as overseas.

Today the Crosslinks' Church Partnerships Team exists to serve churches in their engagement with God's mission.

Our role explained

God's mission: We're passionate about God's agenda for his world, to bring salvation to the ends of the earth.

Engagement: God's mission is something that every Christian is called to engage with, in the task of going and making disciples of all nations by proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ.

For a church that wants to take this responsibility seriously, that will mean:
discovering what the Bible teaches about God's agenda for mission;
exploring how churches can be more involved; engaging by putting those ideas into practice, seeking to share the good news about Jesus locally as well as in partnership with others further afield.

Serving churches

As a mission agency we are clear that our role is to serve churches, rather than 'do' mission for you. The Crosslinks Church Partnerships Team can serve you by offering tailored help and support at every stage:

DISCOVER Through careful and relevant expository preaching we can teach your congregation about God's mission.

We won't use the sermon to advertise Crosslinks, but we would welcome an opportunity to explain the role of Crosslinks elsewhere in the service.

EXPLORE Typically we have found that churches benefit most when a preaching invitation is combined with a mission consultation.

This is a tailored, interactive session of around two hours designed for the PCC, Mission Committee or wider group from the congregation. We explore in detail what biblical mission is and how a church can become more thoroughly and realistically involved as we consider the various aspects of true, authentic gospel partnership ('koinonia').

ENGAGE The way in which Crosslinks encourages churches to form gospel partnerships is through our stakeholder scheme. This offers a church an opportunity to exercise its role in fulfilling the command of Jesus to take God's Word beyond the parish boundary to God's World.

Stakeholder establishes an active mission partnership selected in consultation with you. It includes ongoing support, encouragement and resources to build this relationship by prayer, giving and mutual activity in mission. Use the links above or request a Stakeholder brochure for full information.
