At Crosslinks, we’re passionate about God’s agenda – to bring salvation to the ends of the earth. We’re convinced that every Christian, and so every local church, is called to engage in God’s mission. All of us should be involved in making disciples of all nations by proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ.

The role of mission societies then, is to serve the local church in their engagement in God’s mission, not usurp their role.

A mission consultation is a service offered by Crosslinks, specifically designed to help churches take a fresh look at mission. Whether it is for the PCC, mission committee, or wider group from the church, the aim is the same: to gain a shared understanding of the priorities and principles of mission, and to review current engagement in mission in the local area and beyond, and to move forward in fresh engagement.

We’ll lead you through three interactive sessions:

Discover

the nature of mission and the role of the church. This will focus on the Bible’s big picture of mission (using Isaiah or John’s Gospel) to answer the questions ‘what is mission?’ and ‘what is the gospel?’

Once we have a clear answer to those questions, we can start to think about what involvement in God’s mission will look like, locally and further afield.

Explore

the biblical concept of a dynamic, active relationship between a church and gospel worker. This will focus on the book of Philippians, and the exciting partnership principle modelled between the church in Philippi and Paul.

Engage

applying these principles to your own situation by looking at the choices available and planning to promote active engagement in mission, across the whole church family.

Invitation to preach

We have found that churches benefit most when an invitation to preach is combined with a mission consultation.

Neither the mission consultation nor the sermon would be used to advertise Crosslinks, but we would welcome an opportunity to explain the role of Crosslinks elsewhere in the service.
