The General Council

The General Council of Crosslinks comprises the trustees of the Society. The majority are elected by the members of the Society. The General Council under its Chairman appoints the Mission Director and Operations Director of the Society and delegates to them the day-to-day running of the Society’s affairs. General Council meets four times a year to conduct its business and reports to the members at the Annual Meeting of Members once a year.

The current Chairman of Crosslinks’ General Council is Matthew Payne.

Matthew is married to Roz. They have three teenage children and live in Suffolk, where Matthew  is Vicar of Christ Church Lowestoft, a lively town centre church and the UK's easternmost parish.

Formerly a London solicitor, Matthew re-trained at All Nations Christian College and served as a Crosslinks mission partner in Paris. After Oak Hill College and a curacy in West Sussex, the family moved to Lowestoft in 2005. Matthew enjoys swimming, and would like to sail more often.

It's a challenge and privilege to serve as a local pastor and as a Crosslinks trustee. But as Paul says, 'we do not preach ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for his sake'
2 Corinthians 4:5
